THE GREAT FINAL AT SONNTAGBERG

“Today the overall standings will change significantly again and the gc of the tour will be made. Immediately after the start in Ybbs at the town hall directly on the Danube, the KOM in Maria Taferl, which is beautifully enthroned above the Danube, is already waiting. Then the selective ride towards the Sonntagberg begins, where the great ascent to the basilica has to be mastered twice! No breakaway will get through and whoever is in front here will probably win the tour. All in all a great final of the 72nd Tour of Austria”.

“Ybbs an der Donau has always been a center of sport and culture in the heart of Austria. With a thriving club life, the beautiful old town and the new town hall right on the Danube, Ybbs is always worth a visit. As the mayor of the city of Ybbs, I am all the more pleased that the Tour of Austria 2023 is finally taking place again. With Ybbs as the starting point for the final stage on July 6th, we will set a worthy start to a great final day,” promises Mayor Ulrike Schachner.

Sonntagberg

A very popular stage destination of the Tour of Austria for many times. Catholic place of pilgrimage with a very beautiful baroque basilica.

Mayor Thomas Raidl: “We are very pleased that the Austria Cycle Tour is being held again and that it is also stopping in our community. The Sonntagberg with its basilica, which can be seen from afar, is a guarantee for a high-class stage and the corresponding spectator backdrop.”
