Excitement Until the Final

After three successful stage finishes, the Tour of Austria returns to our city once again. This anniversary edition starts on a Saturday in our beautiful town square, showcasing our region and its diverse cycling routes at their very best.

The first sprint takes place in the spa town of Bad Hall. The peloton then heads into the Pyhrn-Priel region: via Kirchdorf to Vorderstoder for the first mountain classification, before passing through the World Cup ski resort of Hinterstoder on the way back to Steyr. The stage finale, featuring the infamous Porscheberg climb, promises excitement right down to the final second. Will a solo rider make it to the finish, or will a reduced peloton sprint for victory? It’s sure to be a thrilling contest.

CITY WITH INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE

Steyr is the third-largest city in Upper Austria, known for its beautiful baroque old town and its strong industrial tradition, including the history of Steyr-Daimler-Puch.

As Mayor of Steyr, I am delighted that the 75th International Tour of Austria will once again visit our city this summer. It gives the people of Steyr the opportunity to experience top-level sport right on their doorstep. Our city will provide a wonderful backdrop for this event, while the media attention generated by the Tour brings enormous value to the entire region and to Steyr itself.

Ing. Markus Vogl, Mayor City of Steyr

WELCOME TO CYCLING PARADISE UPPER AUSTRIA

What has been true for the past 75 years is even more true for this year’s anniversary edition: Steyr – one of Austria’s most beautiful and romantic towns – is a must-see. Starting in the historic town square, the professionals will set a brisk pace on a varied loop. The route takes them through the “360° Alpenland” tourism destination: a region where – as the name suggests – a special circle is formed, encompassing impressive mountain scenery, pristine national parks, charming historic towns, and thermal spas. While all of this will naturally pass quickly by the cyclists on the tour, I warmly invite all fans to consciously discover Upper Austria at their own pace. We look forward to a successful anniversary tour in 2026!
