The City of Salzburg to be the perfect host for the third stage

As the new organizing director of the Tour of Austria, it is a great honour for me to welcome the third stage of the Tour of Austria to my home region of Salzburg. The Hellbrunn Palace is a picturesque starting point and will make for wonderful images that are seen far beyond our borders. After the start, the race takes us along beautiful roads through the magnificent landscapes of the greater City Salzburg area, before the finale, two and a half laps around the Gaisberg. The Gaisberg is the premier cycling and outdoor leisure mountain of Salzburg. Upon arrival at the Gaisberg summit, athletes from all over the world will be treated to a unique view of the city of Salzburg. All in all, a challenging stage with a steep finale that will bring about a first selection for the GC.

Salzburg Schloss Hellbrunn

Salzburg is ideal partner for sport events

With the third stage of the Tour of Austria 2025, Salzburg once again proves to be the ideal partner for international sporting events. The start at the baroque Hellbrunn Palace gives this stage a unique and dignified setting. From there, the challenging route leads over more than 2,000 meters of elevation gain up to the Gaisberg – the local mountain of the people of Salzburg. The finish on the Gaisberg not only demands peak athletic performance from the riders, but also offers breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding landscape for spectators. The Tour of Austria sends a strong signal for sport in the region and will once again showcase Salzburg as a sporting center.

My special thanks go to the organizing team of the Tour of Austria, whose great commitment helps to further establish international cycling in Austria. I also thank all the volunteers and participants for their valuable contributions to the success of this sporting event.

Mag. (FH) Martin Zauner, M.A., State Councillor of Sports

Salzburg Gaisberg

A top-class sporting event

“It is with great pleasure that Salzburg, as a great sporting city, plays a central role in the 74th edition of the Tour of Austria. With its impressive route from Schloss Hellbrunn up to the Gaisberg, the city offers a spectacular backdrop – both for fans at the roadside and those watching on screen. From the very beginning, the city and the region were excited about the initial plans, and I am very pleased that we can support this great event together. Special thanks go to the organizers and sponsors, as well as all those involved from politics, sports, the authorities, and the emergency services for their collaboration. I look forward to a phenomenal sporting event that once again showcases Salzburg as a dynamic and passionate sporting city.”

Bernhard Auinger, Mayor City of Salzburg
